The Project
For this project we had to design and build an energy device that has multiple types of energy transfers. My group and I decided to build a lava lamp, we went through many iterations of our lava lamp till we finally got a working product.
Content
For our project we used alka-seltzer in water. We put our ingredients in a water bottle, we put water in first then baby oil on top. We had 2 energy transfers in our project, it starts with chemical energy when the alka-seltzer reaches the water, it starts to bubble which is a chemical reaction. The chemical reaction creates, kinetic energy which is shown when the bubbles move upward into the oil.

Energy: "The capacity or power to do work, such as the capacity to move an object (of a given mass) by the application of force."
Matter: "Matter is a substance that has inertia and occupies physical space. According to modern physics, matter consists of various types of particles, each with mass and size."
Heat energy: Heat energy is the result of the movement of tiny particles called atoms, molecules or ions in solids, liquids and gases. Heat energy can be transferred from one object to another. The transfer or flow due to the difference in temperature between the two objects is called heat."
Kinetic energy: Kinetic energy is the energy of motion, observable as the movement of an object, particle, or set of particles. Any object in motion is using kinetic energy."
chemical energy: "Chemical energy is released when bonds form in a chemical reaction, often producing heat as a by-product (exothermic reaction)."

Conclusion
Overall this project was very fun, we got to pick our groups and essentially got to make the project our own. I feel like i could've participated more in the group and I could have been more cooperative with my team members. But I did a good job coming up with ideas and putting stuff out into the discussion. I also did a good job on leading the group toward the end goal of the lava lamp.
