Musical Band is a project where we had to build a instrument whether is was a wind, chime, or string instrument. I choose the string instrument, I thought of making a ukulele. We needed to learn about waves for this project I used my ukulele to play the 5th scale.

My ukulele produces sounds by changing lengths and tightness of the string. As you pluck the string if creates sound. My strings are made of fishing line and are not regular guitar strings making the pitches you hear higher. The string length is 1/2 the wave length of the wave. You can amplify the volume of the ukulele by plucking the strings harder. It can be tuned by turning the screws.

We had to know the follow concepts:
Frequency: rate at which a waves pass per second(hertz).
Wave speed: the rate at which a wave moves (meters/ second).
Wavelength: distance from crest to crest of a wave (meters).
Amplitude: size or height of a wave(meters).
Natural frequency: the sound and object makes naturally.
This project was really fun seeing that we got to be in a group with the same interests in music. We were also able to make any instrument we wanted to. I feel like I worked we all worked very well because we were focused on our instrument. I also feel that we were able to cooperate better because we were all there to help if someone got stuck tuning or determining where to but the string or hole to create the right pitch. But I feel like we were not a group the whole time because we were off doing stuff for our instrument and not with the group. Also we were not very organized, we were all over the place building
